Job Description

The Little Learning Center in Flushing is seeking a caring and dependable Afterschool Teacher / Floater Teacher to join our team. College students majoring in Early Childhood Education or a related field are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, energetic, flexible, reliable, and genuinely enjoys working with young children. The candidate should also be flexible with their work schedule and comfortable supporting different classrooms/office as needed.
Start Date:
October 1, 2026, follows the NYCDOE school calendar.
Work Schedule:
Afterschool Hours:
Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM-5:30
PM Floater Hours:
As needed between Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-2:30
PM Afterschool Responsibilities:
Lead daily age-appropriate activities, including academics, arts and crafts, and music. Lead gross-motor and movement activities. Supervise children and maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment. Follow school routines, policies, and safety procedures. Complete incident or accident reports accurately when necessary. Communicate with parents and school administrative staff regarding children's daily experiences, progress, and any concerns.
Floater Responsibilities:
Provide classroom coverage when Pre-K or 3-K teachers are absent. Assist with classroom and school office needs as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children ages 2-5. Caring, patient, responsible, and dependable. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing classroom and staffing needs. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other related computer applications. Authrized to work in the U.S. Prefered billigual in

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
