BAND TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION

Band Teacher

St. Theresa Catholic School, Des Moines

Reports To:

Administrator Position Summary St. Theresa Catholic School in Des Moines is seeking a passionate and faith-filled part-time 5-8 Band Teacher to grow our band and lead our band program. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music while supporting the mission of Catholic education. Essential Responsibilities Leading Beginning and Advanced Bands groups Preparing students through lessons and group bands for concerts and special events Directing student performances and coordinating seasonal programs Integrating instrumental experiences Maintaining a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field Valid Iowa teaching license (or ability to obtain) Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the school This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful connections with students and contribute to a joyful, faith-centered school community.
