Health Services Program Virginia Commonwealth University Advertising Summary:
The Bachelor of Science in Health Services is seeking adjunct professors to teach a class/classes in the undergraduate program for Health Services. Are you seeking a dynamic academic position focused on teaching future health care leaders? If you are, take a look at a new opportunity in the College of Health Professions, Bachelor of Science in Health Services Program. This position will be responsible for teaching in-person courses and will be hybrid , with a consistent classroom presence. We are seeking individuals who have experience teaching and/or background in the following content, including, but not limited to, interprofessional content areas in healthcare such as: Healthcare professions Person-centered Care Communications, interpersonal relationship skills Leadership Management Economics and Finance Research Methods Human Growth and Development Healthcare Technology and Innovation Professional and Clinical Ethics To learn more about the BSHS vision and our commitment to interprofessional education, please see our current course listings. The primary objective of this position is to provide education instructional support to the Bachelor of Science in Health Services program. Supports as an instructor in all aspects of this blended interdisciplinary program. Opportunities for instruction are face-to-face. Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis and based on program teaching needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in health services based on course needs Develop and organize course syllabi, assignments, exams, and course content as needed. Provide engaging and effective instruction to undergraduate students in person or online, as required. Assess and evaluate student performance through grading of assignments, exams, and projects. Hold office hours to meet with students and provide academic support. Participate in BSHS meetings and maintain communication with faculty and staff as necessary. Stay current with developments in the discipline and incorporate them into course materials and teaching methods. Follow university policies and procedures in teaching, grading, and conducting academic responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications A Master's degree or higher in a related discipline Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage and inspire students in a diverse academic environment Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Ability to commute to the College of Health Professions in Richmond, VA Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an adjunct faculty member at VCU Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching online and face-to-face Familiarity with Canvas PhD or in progress Experience in a related field to program content
Salary Range:
$1,487/credit hour
