Immediate openings are available for Part-Time EEC qualified Infant, Toddler and Preschool Teachers within our Early Education and Care Department at our South Hadley site. Sites are NAEYC accredited. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-respected non-profit agency that offers excellent benefits and opportunities to advance your career. Work cooperatively with Center Director and classroom teaching team in teaching, program planning and general operation of the classroom. Assure care and protection of children at the center at all times.
Flexible Hours:
7AM-10AM OR 2:30PM-5:30
PM Responsibilities:
Supervise children in classroom learning activities, both in groups and on an individual basis, including planning and implementing of program curriculum Report on child?s progress to supervisor and parents, maintain daily log notes, document children?s progress throughout the year as required by EEC or as needed for services Contribute to and follow through on recommendations of social service and educational staff and consultants Supervise children at all times Assist other Center staff when supervisor is absent Responsible for care and use of educational equipment and toys during the school day Attend all workshops and/or training sessions as required by EEC, Center Director, or Program Participate as a team member in the general operation of the classroom, including cleaning and maintaining the classroom and child care environment to meet EEC and program requirements Assist as needed in the food program, including food preparation Provide well rounded, daily lesson plans to enhance the program curriculum Complete and maintain paperwork necessary to meet EEC regulations, program policies and NAEYC standards Assist children who receive VOC transportation services to and from the van Provide documentation of successful completion of First Aid and CPR and physical as required by EEC regulations and VOC policies Other duties as assigned by supervisor
General Requirements:
EEC Teacher Qualifications which includes: 9 months? experience & 3 credits in Child Growth and Development OR 9 months? experience, a minimum of 45 hours of professional development in category 1 and completion of 3 credits or equivalent (CEU?s or PDP?s) within 6 months OR 6 months? experience, 4.5 CEU?s and completion of 3 additional credits or equivalent (CEU?s or PDP?s) OR 3 months? experience, 3 credits in Child Growth and Development and completion of 3 additional credits within 6 months Ability to lift children (up to 60 lbs.) and classroom equipment (such as dividers, playthings) in an appropriate manner as needed Ability to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Pay:
\$18.72 per hour Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
