Job Description Take attendance daily and adhere to the arrival and departure procedures to ensure the safety of each child. Provide visual supervision of each child, meaning each child will always be in sight. Provide and maintain an environment that is warm, inviting and engaging, that fosters independence. Work with children individually and in small groups, modeling how to use materials and perform activities with them. Cultivate independence and self-confidence in children. Form personal connections with each child to cultivate a community of respect. Communicate respectfully with parents to provide support for each child. Observe each child to understand and meet their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of each child. Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment. Engage with students outside during outdoor play, while keeping visual supervision of all children. Supervise snacks and meals, guiding children to clean up after themselves to foster independence and self-confidence. Provide a calm and peaceful environment during the rest period, assisting children who may have trouble falling asleep. Willingness to participate in professional development in order to stay current with best practices.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma required. EDU 119 plus 6 additional credit hours in ECE required (or a willingness to obtain these hours). Qualifying letter from NC Division of Child Development and Early Education required. CPR and First Aid certified required (if not current, must be completed within 30 days of hire date). Background check will be required before hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred. Experience working in a childcare facility preferred.
