Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Afternoon Closing Child Care Supervisor to oversee the safe and engaging care of children during afternoon hours. In this role, you will lead a team of caregivers, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development. The hours for the position are 12pm-6pm Responsibilities File, organize and Keep all state paperwork in order Supervise and support childcare staff during afternoon shifts, ensuring high-quality care and classroom management after the director has left. Oversee daily activities, including playtime, educational instruction, and rest periods, aligned with developmental best practices. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular safety checks, and ensuring compliance with mandated reporting laws. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities to foster strong relationships. Implement child development instruction tailored to various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Manage classroom routines to promote positive behavior management and ensure smooth transitions between activities. Ensure all staff hold current certifications such as first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and child abuse prevention training. Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare centers or preschool settings is required. Demonstrated classroom experience with early childhood education principles and childhood development strategies. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable. Knowledge of toddler care, infant care, and preschool curriculum development is preferred. Proven ability to lead a team of caregivers while maintaining a nurturing and organized environment. Familiarity with daycare licensing requirements, mandated reporting laws, and health & safety regulations related to childcare. Previous roles involving child supervision, babysitting, nannying or teaching young children will be considered valuable assets.
