Job Description

Make a meaningful impact on student literacy as a dedicated professional in a full-time, onsite role supporting elementary and K-8 learners. This contract opportunity offers two openings for experienced Reading Specialists eager to empower young readers and inspire lifelong learning. With a consistent 35-hour workweek and a set assignment through June 2027, youll have the chance to develop dynamic curriculum and enrich lives in a vibrant urban educational environment. In this role, you will: Lead targeted reading interventions and provide direct instruction for K-8 students. Design and implement lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards, using formative assessment to guide differentiation. Demonstrate mastery of reading content, strong instructional techniques, and effective use of resource materials. Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, student-focused school culture. Utilize strong classroom and behavioral management skills to foster a safe, supportive environment. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and professional development. To thrive here, you should have: Valid and active Pennsylvania reading specialist certification and PA teaching license. Experience working in a school-based setting, especially in an urban environment. Successful completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances. Proven record of classroom management and behavior guidance. Reliable transportation for daily onsite responsibilities. Comfort and adaptability working within our districts diverse community.
