Enrichment Instructor - STEM arc After School and Experiential Education - 3.6 San Diego, CA Job Details $35 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Engaging lesson design (student motivation techniques) Full Job Description The Enrichment Instructor for STEM will lead engaging and age-appropriate science classes for students of varying subjects ranges between earth sciences, biological sciences, computer science, and chemistry. The Enrichment Instructor will have a strong educational and instructional background in aforementioned disciplines. They must possess the ability to motivate students, and have a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and energetic learning environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review curriculum and create lesson plans Facilitate classroom-based lessons and activities applicable to elementary through high school age range Maintain student engagement in course material and redirect unwanted behaviors Maintain course kits, instruments and equipment and see to cleanliness and functionality Communicate regularly with Coordinators regarding course matters including material needs, site specifics and curriculum efficacy Provide structured warm-up and cool-down activities Plan and deliver science classes in concepts based on the scientific method Prepare hands-on projects and experiments that allow students to showcase what they have learned Develop student skills that demonstrate understanding and creates a fun and positive learning environment Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support students in comprehension of scientific concepts Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and experience levels Stay current with trends that are relevant and interesting for a range of student interests Encourage collaboration among students Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment Maintain attendance records and participate in staff meetings or training sessions as needed #SD2

Education & Experience:

Official/unofficial college transcripts that confirm 48+ completed college units (60 units for high school) or a passing score on an academic proficiency exam Experience in instructing/teaching, especially with elementary to high school aged students Ability to assess and address student challenges Adaptive to communication styles, motivation needs, and different learning needs Schedule flexibility/availability pertinent to after school instruction hours based on the needs of a given course cycle Experience working with youth in diverse communities CPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferred

vaccination record Completion of Live Scan background check Availability to work before/after school hours and some Ability to travel to assigned school sites and to the Arc office
