Part-Time Science Teacher - West Palm Beach / Palm Beach Gardens About Us Empowered Preparatory School is a private school built for elite student athletes, primarily competitive hockey players. Our students train at a high level, and our school gives them a flexible, rigorous academic program that fits around their athletic schedules. We pair the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) curriculum with in-person teachers who guide, support, and challenge students every day. Our Palm Beach Gardens campus is our newest location, and we're looking for a science teacher to help it grow. The Role You'll lead science instruction for students in grades [5-10], working alongside the FLVS curriculum to make science engaging, hands-on, and relevant. This is a classroom-based role where you'll know your students well, track their progress closely, and help them stay on pace academically while they compete. What You'll Do Teach and support students in [Earth/Space Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, etc.] Supplement FLVS coursework with labs, demonstrations, projects, and small-group instruction Monitor student progress and pacing, and step in when a student falls behind Use assessment data (including IXL) to tailor instruction Communicate with families and school leadership about student progress Build a positive, structured classroom culture that respects students' demanding schedules What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in science, education, or a related field Florida teaching certification in a science area (preferred) or eligibility Experience teaching middle or high school science Comfort working with a virtual curriculum in an in-person setting Strong organization and communication skills Flexibility and a genuine interest in working with student athletes Ability to pass a Level 2 background check Why Join Us Small class sizes and motivated, goal-driven students Supportive, close-knit leadership team Part-time schedule with real impact
