Job Description
Long-Term Substitute (Maternity Leave Coverage) Estimated duration will be January 4th through April 5th.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor progress on students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including goals, accommodations, and modifications
Provide direct instruction in [resource room / co-taught / self-contained] settings across core content areas
Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications within inclusive classrooms
Collect and document data on student progress toward IEP goals
Prepare for and, where applicable, participate in IEP meetings, annual reviews, and re-evaluations
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals/instructional aides assigned to the classroom
Maintain compliance with state and federal special education law (IDEA) and district timelines
Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support strategies and any existing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Coordinate with related service providers (speech, OT/PT, counseling, etc.)
Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, grades, and IEP documentation
Provide a smooth transition plan for the returning teacher at the end of the assignment
