Job Description

Epic Special Education Staffing seeks a Teacher Certified in Visual Impairment for the school year. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction, assessment, and consultation for students with visual impairments in school-based settings. Responsibilities include conducting functional vision assessments, developing and implementing IEPs, teaching Braille and assistive technology, and adapting curriculum to ensure access. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and families. Epic offers mission-driven support, strong clinical resources, professional growth, and competitive pay and benefits. Responsibilities Provide direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments across diverse school settings. Conduct and interpret functional vision and learning media assessments to inform IEP goals. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with federal, state, and district requirements. Teach Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility concepts (in collaboration with O&M), and compensatory skills. Adapt curriculum and classroom materials, ensuring access through large print, Braille, and technology-based tools. Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families to support student success. Document services, progress, and compliance in accordance with school and district procedures. Participate in IEP meetings, staffings, and professional development to maintain best practices in visual impairment education.
