Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid state certification in Special Education at the elementary level Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education or a closely related field Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Strong ability to modify curriculum and adapt teaching methods for diverse learners Prior experience in elementary education or working with students with varying disabilities is highly valued Excellent communication skills for collaboration with faculty, families, and support staff Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and specialized interventions for elementary students identified with special needs Develop and monitor IEPs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the unique needs of each child Provide a supportive and responsive classroom, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and parents to maximize student progress Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and report regularly to key stakeholders
