Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Float Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, focusing on their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role is essential in fostering a love for learning and ensuring that each child reaches their full potential through engaging activities and individualized attention. Responsibilities Maintain the ability to work with a wide variety of age groups. This includes all developmental levels from infancy to school-age. Maintain the ability to follow a set schedule as laid out by the Center Director or his/her designee. Provide lead teachers with lesson planning time. Fill in as needed to provide lunch breaks. Serve as a substitute where needed in the event of a regular classroom teacher's absence. Supervise and monitor the safety of children. Serve meals and snacks to children. Change the diapers of all children using diapers or pull-ups. Organize frequent bathroom breaks for all children who are ready and able to use the toilet. Follow classroom schedule and lesson plans. Keep rooms in neat order. Toys, games, puzzles, etc. are to be picked up and placed in their respective areas when not in use. Qualifications Experience working with children in daycare or private school setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Familiarity with behavior management techniques tailored for young children. Ability to follow engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education and physical activities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
