Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Float Teacher to join our early childhood education team! In this vital role, you will serve as a flexible classroom presence, stepping into various classrooms to support teachers during lunch hours, enhance learning environments, and ensure a smooth daily operation. Your enthusiasm for working with young children and your ability to quickly adapt to different classroom settings will help foster a nurturing, engaging, and educational atmosphere for all students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain diverse classroom experience while making a positive impact on children's early development. Responsibilities Provide immediate support to lead teachers by assisting with lesson implementation, classroom management, and child engagement across different age groups and classrooms. Assist in curriculum development and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Support classroom activities focused on literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional development. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities to foster strong home-school connections. Support behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and emotional well-being among children. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire. Familiarity with early childhood education standards such as Montessori methods or standardized testing is a plus. Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and support various teaching styles as needed. Demonstrated understanding of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and literacy education techniques.
