Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Lillington, North Carolina

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting students in a school-based environment. In this full-time, onsite position, you'll collaborate with a team dedicated to empowering 20-23 students with diverse needs. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 21, 2027—offering the opportunity to provide continuity and stability throughout the school year.
Desired Qualifications:
Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and certifications (required) Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments Strong understanding of Braille instruction, adaptive technology, and individualized education plans (IEPs) Ability to adapt instruction and materials to a range of student needs and abilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, educators, and related service providers
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments Develop and implement individualized plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Assess student strengths, needs, and progress, keeping accurate and thorough records Advise and provide resources to classroom teachers to ensure accessible learning environments Support students' orientation and mobility training, as needed Communicate effectively with students' families regarding progress and strategies for support
Role Details:
