We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and confident Lead Toddler Teacher who can take ownership of the classroom, guide assistant teachers, and maintain a safe, organized daily routine. This is a true classroom leadership position—not simply a childcare supervision role. The right person will be nurturing but structured, confident but teachable, and able to lead without needing constant direction from management. What You'll Do Lead the complete classroom schedule, including meals, diapering, naps, learning activities, outdoor play, and transitions Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities for one-year-old children Actively supervise children and remain attentive throughout the entire day Guide assistant teachers, delegate classroom responsibilities, and model professional practices Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Follow all licensing, sanitation, safety, ratio, and supervision requirements Complete accurate daily documentation in Procare, including meals, diapering, naps, activities, photos, and incident reports Communicate respectfully and professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership Recognize concerns and communicate them promptly to management Help children develop language, social-emotional skills, independence, and positive routines What a Successful Day Looks Like Children are safe, engaged, nurtured, and actively supervised The classroom follows a predictable and age-appropriate routine Diapering, meals, naps, activities, and documentation are completed on time Assistant teachers understand their responsibilities and work together respectfully Families receive consistent communication and meaningful updates The classroom remains clean, calm, organized, and prepared for the next day Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Have experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting Are comfortable taking ownership of a classroom Can confidently guide and support assistant teachers Are dependable, punctual, organized, and consistent Understand that reliable attendance is essential for maintaining safe childcare ratios Remain calm and patient in a busy environment Take initiative instead of waiting to be reminded of routine responsibilities Accept feedback professionally and apply corrections Genuinely enjoy interacting, playing, talking, and learning with young children Communicate respectfully, even during stressful moments Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED Previous professional childcare experience Ability to pass all required North Dakota childcare background checks CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it Ability to meet North Dakota licensing qualifications for the position Ability to safely lift, carry, sit on the floor, bend, and remain active throughout the day Early childhood education coursework, a CDA, or previous classroom leadership experience is strongly preferred.
