Key Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience working 1:1 with pediatric students is highly desirable Ability to adapt materials and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners Excellent communication skills to collaborate with families, staff, and support services Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individualized instruction and support to a pediatric student with visual impairment Assess student abilities and tailor curriculum to meet specific needs and learning styles Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and related service providers to create accessible educational resources Track student progress, develop and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and participate in team meetings Promote self-advocacy, independence, and confidence in your student Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices in visual impairment education within the school community
