Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Teacher/Float to join our early childhood education team. In this versatile role, you will provide high-quality instruction across various classrooms, supporting children's developmental needs while ensuring a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment. As a float teacher, you will adapt quickly to different classroom settings, collaborate with staff and families, and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, social-emotional growth, and physical development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while gaining valuable classroom experience. Responsibilities Deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards in early childhood education, including literacy, math, physical education, and child development instruction. Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster positive behavior and a respectful learning atmosphere. Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to develop lesson plans that promote holistic child development and incorporate best practices in preschool teaching. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, developmental milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or classroom behavior. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure safety protocols such as first aid and CPR are followed diligently. Assist in classroom setup, organization, and cleanup to create an inviting environment conducive to learning and play. Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored for early childhood education settings. Experience working with children across various age groups, especially toddlers and preschoolers. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and childhood development principles. Proficiency in classroom management techniques that support positive behavior and student engagement. Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration. Ability to implement standardized testing when applicable to assess developmental progress. Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certification. Experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement activities into daily routines is a plus. Prior classroom experience in private or preschool settings is highly desirable.
