Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree earned from an accredited university Current and valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) teaching license Certification or endorsement in Special Education (SPED) Ability to adapt lessons and instructional techniques for students with varying needs Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Collaborative spirit and willingness to engage with fellow educators, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique strengths and areas of growth Deliver engaging instruction across academic subjects in both individual and small group settings Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust interventions as required Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each student's learning, behavioral, and social/emotional goals Communicate regularly and empathetically with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for success Uphold school and district policies related to Special Education services and documentation This position is well-suited for candidates seeking a meaningful, long-term contract role in a supportive school setting.
