9670499-22520 Job Description Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher in a dynamic school environment. Your expertise will help foster communication, inclusion, and success for children in need of specialized educational services. This full-time, contract opportunity combines part-time engagement across three neighboring districts, providing diverse experiences while maintaining a consistent schedule.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant modalities Ability to differentiate instruction and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams, administrators, and families Commitment to empowering students and building a supportive classroom culture
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with hearing differences, supporting both academic and social-emotional growth Assess students needs and document progress using appropriate evaluation tools Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to address unique student goals Partner with general education staff to promote accommodations and modifications to curriculum as needed Advocate for students and foster accessibility throughout the school community Consult with families, speech therapists, audiologists, and other professionals to coordinate comprehensive services Travel between assigned school sites within collaborating districts as part of a full-time schedule Enjoy the impact of helping students thrive while gaining experience across multiple educational communities.
