Youll work closely with students, families, and school teams to support student growth and advocate for accessibility in educational settings.
Desired Qualifications:
Virginia licensure (or eligibility) as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings Strong understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for DHH students Knowledge of creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Collaborative communication and a commitment to promoting inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments Develop, adapt, and implement instructional materials to meet individual student needs Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to facilitate student success Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing evaluation and program development Engage families in the educational process by providing resources, updates, and strategies for home support Travel between specified local sites to ensure comprehensive service delivery This full-time positioncreated by combining part-time openings in neighboring districtsoffers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
