Key Qualifications:
Valid state teaching license with an adaptive curriculum endorsement Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a K-5 or self-contained classroom setting Strong ability to adapt and modify instruction to meet diverse student needs Proficiency in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and implementing behavioral or instructional strategies Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and specialists Commitment to providing a positive and engaging learning environment for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
Teach and support elementary students in a dedicated K-5 self-contained classroom Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to adaptive curriculum standards Manage and update IEPs while tracking student progress and maintaining accurate records Use evidence-based practices to foster student growth academically, socially, and emotionally Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, support personnel, and family members to ensure students receive comprehensive support Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, using proactive classroom management techniques Engage in professional development and contribute constructively to the school community This position offers a flexible full-time schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week, giving you the structure and stability needed to focus on student success.
