Responsibilities Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) by following prescribed goals and accommodations for students with disabilities. Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects, including literacy, math, and social skills, tailored to the unique needs of each student. Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive strategies, behavioral therapy techniques, and crisis intervention when necessary. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, therapists to develop consistent approaches to student support and progress monitoring. Support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, and other special needs by applying evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis (ABA). Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior incidents, and instructional activities in compliance with district policies. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of special education principles. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for students with disabilities. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or deaf education is advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents to foster a collaborative learning environment. Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes. Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, behavioral therapy, tutoring, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Flexibility to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and instructional needs. Commitment to fostering inclusive classrooms that promote childhood development and literacy education from preschool through early childhood levels.
