Caseload:
Elementary, Middle School, and High School opportunities available based on experience and strengths Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Paraprofessional Behavioral Aide to support students with special needs in a school-based setting. This position is a 10-month school-year assignment/contract, and candidates must be able to commit to and complete the full 10-month assignment. The ideal candidate enjoys building meaningful relationships with students and helping them develop academic, behavioral, social, communication, and life skills. Caseload placement may be available at the elementary, middle school, or high school level , depending on the candidate's experience, strengths, interests, and student needs. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and/or small-group support to students with special needs. Implement behavioral and educational strategies under the direction of the student's educational and behavioral team. Support students in developing appropriate social, communication, academic, and self-help skills. Assist students in participating successfully in classroom and school activities. Provide positive reinforcement and promote appropriate behaviors. Support students through transitions, routines, and challenging situations. Observe and communicate relevant student progress and behavioral information to the appropriate team members. Collaborate with teachers, behavioral professionals, therapists, and other members of the educational team. Maintain a supportive, respectful, and positive environment for students. Maintain student confidentiality and follow school and program policies.
Qualifications Required:
Associate degree or higher. Previous experience working with individuals with special needs. Ability and willingness to commit to and complete the entire 10-month school-year assignment/contract . Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, reliability, and a genuine interest in supporting students. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred:
Experience with behavioral support, special education, ABA, or related services. Experience working in a school or classroom setting. Familiarity with positive behavior support strategies.
