Job Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated lead or Assistant Dance Teacher to join our dance company to help with our elementaty dance program. In this role, you will support the lead dance instructor in delivering engaging, creative, and age-appropriate dance classes for students of all ages. Your passion for dance and arts education will inspire young learners to explore movement, develop their skills, and express themselves confidently through dance and performance. Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing dance curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of ballet, contemporary, jazz, or other dance styles Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and respect among students Help demonstrate dance techniques, choreography, and movement exercises during classes Engage with students individually and in groups to nurture their confidence and enthusiasm for dance and performing arts Assist with setting up rehearsal spaces, preparing costumes or props as needed, and maintaining a safe environment for all participants Contribute to the development of creative projects such as performances or showcases by collaborating on choreography or stage direction Support the lead instructor in managing classroom behavior, addressing student needs, and tracking progress Qualifications Experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings, especially within arts or dance programs Strong background in teaching visual & performing arts, including choreography and dance instruction Knowledge of various dance styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, or hip-hop; ballet experience is a plus Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and developmental stages from preschool through youth programs Experience teaching music or instrumental performance is advantageous; familiarity with theater or performance arts is preferred Skills in curriculum development related to creative arts instruction and youth engagement Additional skills such as sewing for costume creation, photography for documentation or promotional purposes, or experience with childhood development are valued Join us in inspiring the next generation of dancers! Pay:
