Job Description

Duties Prepare for classroom activities under the guidance of the teacher. Work with small groups of students to reinforce material given by the teacher. Assist individual students in need of special attention. Perform clerical duties as directed by the teacher. Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as needed by individual student under the guidelines of the teacher. Make instructional materials as directed by the teacher. Review and correct student work. Assist in drill work. Reinforce teacher's restrictions and decisions. Reinforce teacher instructed reading programs. Implement interventions as outlined by the teacher. Participate in district sponsored staff development activities. Maintain confidentiality of all student-related concerns. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the teacher or principal. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and experience supporting students with disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and educational regulations such as ESSA is advantageous. Proven ability to work collaboratively with teachers through mentoring and teacher collaboration initiatives. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and community members. Experience utilizing educational technologies and computers for instructional support. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable; however, training can be provided if needed. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.75 per week
