Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated tutors to join our vibrant after-school program in Annapolis. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys while fostering a love for learning. As a tutor, you will work with diverse groups of children in grades 1-3, providing personalized instruction in STEAM, Language Arts (English and/or Spanish) and Math. Your role will be vital in creating a supportive, engaging environment that encourages academic growth, confidence, and curiosity. Curriculum materials, paid training, and paid planning/preparation time are provided. Schedule STEAM Instructor + ELA/SLA/Math Tutor (1 needed)

• Mondays & Wednesdays 2:45-5:15 PM Tuesdays 2:45-6:15 PM Thursdays 2:45-7:15 PM 1.5 hours additional planning/reporting time ELA/SLA/Math Tutors (2 needed) Mondays & Wednesdays 3:45-5:15 PM Tuesdays 3:45-6:15 PM Thursdays 3:45-7:15 PM 1.5 hours additional planning/reporting time Duties Deliver engaging tutoring sessions tailored to individual learning styles and needs, covering subjects such as STEAM, English Language Arts, Spanish Language Arts, Mathematics, and/or homework assistance. Develop and adapt lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and incorporate innovative learning technology tools. Assess students' progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development. Foster a positive classroom environment by managing behavior effectively and encouraging active participation from students of all backgrounds. Collaborate with program staff to plan activities that promote social-emotional learning and inclusivity for students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Utilize instructional adaptability techniques to meet the unique needs of each learner, including those requiring special education or language support. Maintain clear communication with program staff, school-day teachers, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement. Requirements Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally with a focus on STEAM, Language Arts (English and/or Spanish), and Mathematics. Trained in the Science of Reading and/or the Science of Math preferred. Strong knowledge of curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and classroom management strategies. Familiarity with learning technology tools for attendance and progress monitoring. Ability to adapt instruction based on different learning styles and individual student needs. Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those requiring special education accommodations. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. Prior classroom experience or childcare background is highly desirable; early elementary education experience is a plus. Experience with grants is a plus. Pay:
