Overview Sylvan Learning Center of Southern Pines, NC is seeking part-time tutors to work with students from Pre-K through 12th grade. We provide a highly individualized, small-group environment (3-4 students) where you can focus on building mastery and confidence. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, a current or expired Teaching License (from any state), and is available after school and/or on Saturday mornings. You'll receive paid training to earn certifications in various subjects, such as reading, math, writing, and even SAT/ACT test prep and ZERO lesson planning! At Sylvan, you'll be part of a team dedicated to inspiring every child to succeed. We take care of the lesson planning and parent conferences, so you can focus on what you love: teaching! The hours are flexible (you can choose to work from 3-15 hours a week depending on your schedule) and the pay is competitive (typically $18/hour depending on certification and experience). Responsibilities Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs across multiple subjects and age groups. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement. Deliver lessons that align with curriculum standards and educational objectives. Reliably arrive to the center 10 minutes prior to your scheduled shift. Tutoring hours are 3:30-6:30 Mondays-Thursdays and/or Saturdays 9:45am-1:00pm. Qualifications Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or classroom management. Familiarity with learning technology platforms and digital educational tools. Experience working with children, including preschool or early childhood education settings, through middle, high school and college-aged.
