Ready to Begin Job Description Splendid Tutoring LLC is seeking a knowledgeable, patient, engaging, and dependable in-person tutor to provide personalized academic support for a 6th-grade student in Lubbock, Texas . The student attends Kingdom Preparatory Academy and is looking for additional support in Math The school follows a collaborative learning model, and the student is home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The family would ideally like tutoring to take place between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM , before the student's afternoon extracurricular activities. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced educator or tutor who enjoys working one-on-one with middle school students and can make learning clear, encouraging, and engaging. Areas of Academic Support 6th Grade Math The tutor should be comfortable supporting grade-level concepts such as: Fractions, decimals, and percentages Ratios and proportional reasoning Expressions and equations Integers and number operations Geometry and measurement Word problems and problem-solving strategies Reviewing school assignments and preparing for assessments Strengthening foundational math skills as needed Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has experience teaching or tutoring middle school students Is confident teaching 6th-grade Math Is patient, positive, encouraging, and dependable Can explain concepts in multiple ways until the student understands Can identify academic gaps and provide targeted instruction Communicates professionally with parents and Splendid Tutoring Can make learning engaging while helping the student become more independent and confident Is reliable and committed to maintaining a consistent tutoring schedule Certified teachers, retired teachers, experienced tutors, education majors, and professionals with strong Math backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Tuesday:
Between 9:00 AM-2:00
PM Thursday:
Between 9:00 AM-2:00 PM Approximately 2 to3 hours of tutoring per week , depending on the student's needs and tutor availability.
