9601768-70056 Job Description Inspire the next generation of scientists as a high school Science Teacher with a reputable district in the New Orleans area. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside dedicated educators in a supportive academic environment. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through late May 2027, providing stability for the academic year.
Desired Qualifications:
Active and valid Louisiana DOE Teaching Certificate (required; no temporary or substitute authorizations permitted) Previous experience teaching high school-level science in a general education setting is preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to quickly integrate into a new team and adapt to district standards and expectations Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment for a diverse student population Willingness and ability to complete district-specific credentialing requirements, including a drug screen and fingerprinting
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging science curriculum to high school students in accordance with state and district guidelines Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to develop effective instructional strategies Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress Participate in professional development and ongoing trainings as needed Ensure a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning This role provides a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday, following the schools calendar. The number of schools and specific caseload will be determined based on district needs.
