We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer for an automotive plastic injection molding operation. This position is responsible for day-to-day plant quality, customer quality issues, dimensional inspection, and IATF compliance. Key Responsibilities Supervise and provide technical direction to Quality Inspectors across production shifts. Support injection molding production and troubleshoot dimensional, appearance, flash, short shot, sink, warpage and other molding-related quality issues. Serve as the primary customer liaison for quality complaints, rejects and corrective actions. Lead 8D problem solving, root-cause analysis, containment, and corrective/preventive actions. Perform and/or coordinate CMM measurements, dimensional layouts and capability studies. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T. Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, PPAP and APQP documentation. Conduct

internal, process and product audits and support customer/IATF audits. Perform SPC, MSA, Gage R&R and capability analysis (Cp/Cpk). Support new mold trials, PPAPs, engineering changes and new-program launches. Monitor customer complaints, internal scrap and quality trends and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications 5+ years of automotive manufacturing quality experience, preferably in plastic injection molding. Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and common molding defects. Experience with IATF 16949, 8D, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans. Hands-on experience with CMM, GD&T and dimensional inspection. Strong root-cause/problem-solving and customer communication skills. Ability to lead and train Quality Inspectors and work closely with Production and Process Technicians. Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality degree preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered. PC-DMIS experience is a plus.

$70,000.00 per year
