About the Firm American Services of Miami is a civil engineering, land surveying, and site planning firm that has served South Florida for more than 30 years. The firm provides the full range of development services in-house, from boundary and topographic surveys through civil design, permitting, and final plat, for residential, commercial, and industrial clients in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. About the Role Demand for the firm's engineering services continues to grow, and we are adding a Senior Civil Engineer to our land development practice. The Senior Civil Engineer will serve as engineer of record, sign and seal plans, review the work of engineering and drafting staff, and work directly with reviewing agencies, clients, and design teams. The position works closely with firm leadership and has a direct role in the technical direction of the practice. What You'll Do Serve as engineer of record on paving and drainage, water and sewer, and stormwater projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments Review plans, calculations, and specifications for accuracy and agency compliance before submission Guide and review the work of our engineers and drafters, and help set priorities and schedules Represent the firm in pre-application meetings and plan review conferences with Miami-Dade WASD, DERM, SFWMD, FDOT, and municipalities Manage the comment-and-response cycle through permit approval Lead technical discussions with developers, contractors, and design teams Mentor engineers, including toward PE licensure Contribute to proposals and new client pursuits What We're Looking For (Required) Active Florida PE license in good standing B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program 8+ years of land development or site civil experience in Florida Strength in at least two of: paving & drainage, water & sewer, stormwater management Civil 3D proficiency for review and redlines Experience guiding or reviewing the work of junior engineers or designers Preferred Relationships or working familiarity with WASD, DERM, SFWMD, FDOT, or municipal public works ICPR, SWMM, HEC-RAS, or WaterGEMS modeling experience Pump station design Experience with latest ERP report standards Platting and subdivision experience Proposal writing and business development Experience working with remote production support Why Join Us A senior role with real ownership and influence in a growing practice Direct access to firm leadership Performance bonus tied to firm revenue Health insurance, HSA, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and professional development assistance Prime Coral Gables Office location Apply directly on Indeed. $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
