We are seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer who is eager to learn, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants to build a career in a highly specialized and rewarding field. What You'll Do As a Civil Engineer at Maggart & Associates, you will work directly with an experienced Professional Engineer and certified corrosion specialists on projects that protect critical infrastructure across the country.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in the design of cathodic protection systems for pipelines, storage tanks, marine structures, and other buried or submerged steel infrastructure
Preparing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Supporting field installations, testing, data collection, and site inspections
Assisting with corrosion evaluations and engineering analyses
Coordinating with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Providing timely updates and communicating promptly regarding project progress, questions, scheduling, and potential challenges
Managing assigned responsibilities reliably and following through on commitments
Helping develop practical engineering solutions that meet project goals and applicable industry standards
Learning industry best practices in corrosion prevention and cathodic protection engineering
Traveling to project sites throughout the Southeast and across the United States What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to access and maintain access to U.S. military installations
Ability to climb elevated water towers and lift up to 50 pounds
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily throughout the Southeast but including projects across the United States
Valid driver's license
AMPP/NACE
Cathodic Protection Tester (CP1) certification or willingness to obtain it within six months of starting
AMPP/NACE
Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2) certification or willingness to obtain it within 18 months of starting
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain it within one year
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prompt, dependable, and professional communication habits
Ability to work independently while remaining responsive and accountable to a small team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine desire to learn Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
Previous engineering internship, fieldwork, or project experience No prior corrosion engineering experience?
