Job Description

Industrial Automation/Controls and Instrumentation SpecialistDirect Hire/Perm
LOCATION
- Memphis, TN area, Onsite in an industrial setting/Manufacturing facility ( May be occasional travel, NOT a remote/WFH role)We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation and Electrical Specialist to support automated equipment, control systems, and electrical infrastructure in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, system improvements, and operational reliability.

Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, drives, motors, VFDs, MCCs, and electrical control systems.

Modify and maintain automation programs while documenting system changes.

Support equipment startups, commissioning activities, testing, and system upgrades.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and process equipment.

Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.

Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and inspection records.

Follow all applicable electrical and workplace safety procedures.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.

Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Automation, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial automation, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and electrical systems.

Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, control panels, and process equipment.

Commissioning, startup, and calibration experience is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an industrial setting.
