Job Description

Are you the technician other people call when automated production equipment goes down? We're seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial electrical systems, PLC-controlled machinery, motor controls, and electromechanical troubleshooting. We're looking for more than someone who can investigate equipment faults, identify the underlying cause, and perform repairs that get production running again. Hands-on 480V industrial electrical troubleshooting experience is required.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment involving electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Diagnose industrial electrical faults involving 480V power, three-phase motors, motor controls, overloads, fuses, transformers, relays, and contactors. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery using HMI fault information, control-system diagnostics, and electrical schematics. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, lift tables, and other production equipment. Diagnose issues involving sensors, switches, pneumatic systems, and variable-frequency drives (VFDs). Use multimeters and other appropriate diagnostic instruments to identify faults and verify repairs. Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical or pneumatic diagrams to trace equipment problems. Support automated production systems, including robotics and servo-driven equipment, as needed. Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment history using maintenance software. Collaborate with production operators, maintenance teammates, and engineering personnel to minimize downtime and prevent recurring failures. Follow electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and established maintenance standards.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience troubleshooting 480V industrial electrical systems. Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial or automated manufacturing equipment. Working knowledge of three-phase motors and associated electrical components, including overloads, fuses, transformers, relays, and contactors. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment beyond basic machine operation or resetting alarms. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and other technical diagrams. Familiarity with electrical testing instruments and safe troubleshooting practices. Ability to work independently, think through complex equipment problems, and communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams. Flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed and adapt to changing production demands. Ability to pass a hands-on electrical troubleshooting assessment involving live current.
Knowledge Base Requirements:
Siemens PLCs, including S7 platforms, and/or Allen-Bradley/Rockwell controls. PLC fault diagnosis, ladder logic, and laptop-based controls troubleshooting. Variable-frequency drives (VFDs), AC/DC drives, and motor-control systems. Industrial robotics, servo motors, and automated assembly equipment. Pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and mechanical component rebuilding. Mechatronics, industrial automation, electrical technology, or electromechanical maintenance education. Experience in automotive manufacturing or other high-volume production environments. Maintenance management systems such as SAP.
Education Requirements:
Associate degree in a technical discipline and at least two years of related experience, OR High school diploma or GED and four years of technical experience with automation/PLC controls, mechanical systems, and electronic systems.
