This is a hands-on technical leadership role involving system design, troubleshooting, testing, and mentoring engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical and control system design from concept through integration and testing. Develop complex electrical designs from high-level system requirements with minimal supervision. Lead and mentor small-to-medium teams of electrical engineers and technicians. Design and integrate DC power, embedded control, sensors, actuators, COTS equipment, and electrical interfaces. Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, block diagrams, and system documentation. Design and integrate communications including Ethernet, USB, RS-232/422/485, SPI, I2C, and CAN. Perform system power calculations, component selection, troubleshooting, design reviews, and hands-on testing. Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related discipline. 10+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience involving design, analysis, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of complex electrical/electromechanical systems. Strong electrical power and control system design experience. Experience with electrical schematics, wiring/cabling, component selection, embedded controls, and electronic test equipment. U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred:
Altium, SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, MATLAB, or MathCAD. Marine/underwater systems, ROVs, AUVs, robotics, automation, or sonar. PCB design, fiber optics, brushless motor drives, and closed-loop controls. 120/240/480/3000+ VAC and DC power systems. IEEE, ANSI, IEC, ISO, NEMA, NEC, and MIL standards. Hands-on wiring, soldering, assembly, and cabling experience. Ability to travel occasionally for 1-2 weeks, including offshore or international assignments. #
GRPA Pay:
