What You'll Be Responsible For Lead & Develop the Team Lead, supervise, train, and support the hotel's maintenance team. Create a positive, accountable team culture where people take pride in their work. Train Team Members on SOPs, safety practices, and proper maintenance procedures. Conduct regular department and safety meetings. Keep the Property Running Oversee daily work orders and prioritize repairs based on hotel and guest needs. Perform and oversee preventative maintenance throughout the property. Conduct regular property-wide inspections and proactively identify issues. Maintain the hotel's building systems, equipment, fixtures, furniture, and grounds. Ensure the maintenance shop is clean, organized, secure, and properly stocked. Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Manage Vendors & Projects Research and evaluate outside vendors and contractors. Manage relationships with contractors and serve as the hotel liaison during major projects and property improvements. Review maintenance capital expenditure requests and make recommendations to the General Manager. Coordinate outside resources when specialized work is required. Own the Business Side of Engineering Assist with development and management of the annual engineering budget. Monitor departmental spending and ensure expenses remain within budget. Manage purchasing, inventory, supplies, and purchase orders. Monitor hotel utility consumption and identify opportunities for operational efficiency. Maintain accurate payroll, timekeeping, maintenance, and personnel documentation. Make Safety a Priority Maintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout the property. Ensure safe work practices and compliance with applicable company, state, and local regulations. Ensure hazardous materials are properly handled, stored, and labeled. Immediately address and report hazardous conditions or suspicious occurrences. You're willing to jump in and help wherever the operation needs you. What We're Looking For Strong working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and equipment mechanics . Advanced vocational training plus at least two years of general building maintenance or construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hospitality, extended-stay, apartment building, or similar property maintenance management experience preferred. Professional certifications or licenses required by applicable law. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to read equipment manuals, safety information, and maintenance documentation. Basic budgeting and mathematical skills, including percentages and variances. Microsoft Office experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent experience.
