Assistant Project Engineer Position Summary The Assistant Project Engineer will provide technical and organizational support to Project Managers and Engineering teams throughout the execution of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, and automation projects. This is an entry-level position designed for a recent graduate or candidate with limited professional experience who wants to develop a career in project engineering and project management. The position will gain exposure to project planning, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and customer coordination. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of engineering and manufacturing projects. Maintain project schedules, trackers, action-item lists, and status reports. Follow up on project tasks, deadlines, materials, and deliverables. Coordinate information between engineering, machining, fabrication, purchasing, and automation teams. Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and project documentation. Support the preparation and organization of technical documentation. Assist with purchasing and material tracking for project requirements. Follow up with vendors and internal departments regarding project deliverables and expected completion dates. Participate in internal project meetings and prepare meeting notes and action items. Help identify project risks, delays, missing information, and outstanding tasks. Support engineering changes and ensure that updated information is communicated to the appropriate teams. Assist with prototype builds, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Support Project Managers during customer communications and project updates when appropriate. Prepare basic project reports, presentations, and documentation. Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and records. Learn and follow company project management, engineering, quality, and safety procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Recent graduate or 0-1 year of professional experience. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Basic understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and technical documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail. Ability and willingness to work in both an office and manufacturing environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Preferred Skills Internship or academic experience involving engineering projects. Exposure to machining, fabrication, automation, or manufacturing. Basic knowledge of project management concepts. Experience using project tracking tools or ERP systems. CAD knowledge is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. Career Development The Assistant Project Engineer will have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the company's engineering and manufacturing operations while gaining hands-on project management experience. The position is intended to provide the technical foundation and project coordination experience necessary to grow into a Project Engineer or Project Manager role.
Pay:
From $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
