Optics Production:
Our Production department has a range of positions that process raw substrates into finished precision optics for high-tech industries.
Fabrication:
create rough-shaped optics from substrate material using saws, centering machines, beveling machines and Bridgeport mill, Blanchard grinders, shaping saws
Blocking:
adhere blanks or partially finished optics to tooling for Grinding or Polishing processes. This department also de-blocks and cleans optics and prepares them for the next processing step.
Grinding:
bring blanks into near-specs and creates the rough surface.
Polishing:
produce the final surface finish on the optics.
QC:
checks and measures optics to confirm they are to the customer's specs. Documents results. Our Production department personnel are cross-trained across areas. In these roles you learn how to fine-tune industrial optics to their final specifications. This is hands-on work with an artisan flare. It is not button-pushing. If you are already a highly-trained optical polisher with experience in achieving high quality finished surfaces on a variety of substrates, we want to hear from you. No experience? Limited experience? We will train you.
