Freeze Dryer Production Technician II ProForm Fabrication - 5.0 Sioux Falls, SD Job Details $25 - $30 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Parts drawings Full Job Description We are looking for a Freeze Dryer Production Technician II to join our production team in Sioux Falls, SD. This hands-on role supports the production of freeze-drying equipment by assembling mechanical and electrical components, wiring, testing, troubleshooting production issues, preparing parts and materials, and getting finished units ready for shipment. This is a good fit for someone with mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and experience in assembly, manufacturing, production, or a similar hands-on work environment.
Starting Wage :
$25-$30 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Assemble freeze dryer units and subassemblies, including mechanical assembly, wiring, fitting, and component installation, following work instructions, drawings, and production specs. Inspect parts and completed work for proper fit, alignment, function, and quality; assist with unit testing and quality checks. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and material issues, working with quality, engineering, and startup teams to resolve them. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and material-handling equipment. Kit, stage, and prepare parts and materials for production, shipment, and customer orders. Package, load, and unload units and components for shipment and delivery. Maintain accurate records for production, testing, non-conformance, and shipping. Follow safety, quality, and company procedures, keep a clean and organized work area, and report any concerns to your supervisor. Support warehouse and general production tasks as needed, including occasional customer-site installations with the startup team. Support evolving business needs and provide opportunities for skill development and professional growth. Required Qualifications Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, production, or a similar hands-on work environment. Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude. Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, drawings, diagrams, work orders, and production specifications. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification. Troubleshooting experience with wiring, electronics, or control panel components. Mechanical assembly experience with industrial equipment, production equipment, or machinery. Fabrication, maintenance, equipment repair, or production equipment operation experience. Order picking, inventory handling, shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mechanical and electrical aptitude with strong independent troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to stay organized, adapt to changing priorities, and works well with others. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, kneel, squat, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to perform hands-on assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, material handling, and equipment movement as required. Working Conditions This position works in a production and assembly environment. The work includes a combination of mechanical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, warehouse tasks, material handling, equipment preparation, and general production support. The position may involve exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, tools, machinery, moving equipment, and changing production demands. Occasional travel, less than 10%, may be required to assist with freeze dryer installations at customer locations. Experience Required Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, production, or a similar hands-on work environment. Preferred Mechanical assembly experience with industrial equipment, production equipment, or machinery Forklift certification Education Preferred Associates or better
