Job Description:
Who we're looking for: Client's Engineering Excellence & Strategy - Assembly Planning Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Assembly Technician/ Controls Engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical/skilled support to EES Assembly Planning Engineering team. This includes design/drawing review, buyoff support, install/commissioning, and equipment start up support. Reporting to the Advanced Equipment & Equipment Standards Manager (AES), the person in this role will support the EES Assembly Planning department's objective to provide high quality, low cost and reliable plant Equipment and control systems What you'll be doing: Review equipment specifications and design, identify improvements, conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions, Install equipment, verify safety, quality, and productivity of equipment. Investigate to determine modification requirements. Implement modifications. Trial and adjust. Lower cost and decrease project time by overseeing installation by vendor and facilitating kanban process. Improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments, as identified during online vehicle trials. Install, set-up, and troubleshoot ToyoPuc and Allen-Bradley, etc. program controllers Provide training to Maintenance members on newly implemented equipment Share Subject Matter Expert knowledge to local NAMC Maintenance and Production Members Travel up to 20% at times. Engage in travel to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico. Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays
Requirements:
Strong PLC programming/troubleshooting (ToyoPuc, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or Allen Bradley) + 4 years Comprehensive knowledge of PLC's +6 years Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical circuits and Industrial controls + 4 years 2-year technical degree or completion of trade school program (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience. Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings Ability to travel up to 20% at times. (Including International travel) Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required. Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs on occasion Ability to frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching on varying surfaces. Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Good vision and hand-eye coordination for detailed repairs. Proficiency with MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, TEAMs What you may bring (Nice to Have): 4+ years Industrial maintenance experience Knowledge of Industrial Robot programming and teaching Knowledge of AGVs/AMRs programming and set up Knowledge of safety scanners and programming. Knowledge of various industrial controls networking, EthernetIP, FLNet, ProfiNet ect. Automotive manufacturing experience.
