Description Location:
San Antonio, TX location is preferred, but will considered qualified candiates living near ECC offices ECC is seeking a licensed Architect or Professional Engineer to help lead the delivery of complex federal design-build projects throughout the United States and around the world. We are looking for professionals with approximately 5 to 15 years of real-world design experience who have developed strong technical expertise within their discipline and are ready to lead multidisciplinary subcontracted Architect-Engineer (A/E) teams. Candidates must possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to effectively lead large meetings, facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and drive successful project outcomes. This opportunity is ideal for architects and engineers who want to expand beyond traditional discipline-specific roles and assume greater project leadership responsibilities while remaining closely connected to the design process. In this position, you will: Serve as the design management lead on complex federal design-build projects
Help guide projects from proposal development through final design and construction support
Support a diverse portfolio of federal projects including facilities, infrastructure, utilities, airfields, waterfront and shipyard developments, industrial facilities, site improvements, and other mission-critical programs
Apply technical expertise, broaden leadership skills, and work alongside experienced design and construction professionals on projects that have a lasting impact
In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Requirements:
Current registration as a Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible design experience
Experience coordinating multiple technical disciplines and leading design efforts
Ability to successfully lead multidisciplinary subcontracted A/E teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal Design-Build project experience
- Department of Defense project experience
- Working knowledge of UFC, UFGS, and WBDG
- Experience with NAVFAC, USACE, Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Space Force, or other federal agencies
- Experience leading design-build proposal efforts
Experience supporting projects valued in excess of $20 million Experience with federal projects and federal design standards is highly desirable. However, ECC is equally interested in candidates who possess strong design experience, proven leadership ability, and the capability to successfully lead multidisciplinary subcontracted A/E teams. ECC targeted salary range for the San Antonio area is $115,000 to $125,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
