Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the creation, execution, and oversight of the program dedicated to ensuring the mechanical soundness of crucial site assets and safety systems. Your responsibilities include upholding engineering benchmarks for mechanical and civil aspects in line with legal standards, industry codes, and corporate directives. You'll manage and store records for pressure vessels subject to regulatory oversight, and offer expert advice on equipment repairs and modifications, ensuring they align with various statutory and engineering norms. As the primary technical liaison, you'll address regulatory affairs concerning equipment design and integrity standards. Your role will also involve devising strategies and setting inspection timelines for pivotal equipment and safety systems. By assessing inspection data, you'll determine the state of the equipment and advocate for enhancements to bolster asset reliability. Additionally, you'll draft maintenance protocols aimed at preserving or enhancing equipment efficiency, leading preventive and predictive maintenance schemes. Collaborating closely with Operations and Maintenance, you'll tackle equipment malfunctions, pinpoint persistent reliability concerns, and devise strategies for maintenance and design improvements specific to individual pieces of equipment. You will also orchestrate and guide Root Cause Analysis initiatives for failures and operational challenges, conduct annual assessments of asset condition, and help articulate long-term asset sustainability plans. Leveraging your expertise, you'll offer insights related to piping, vessels, tanks, and other mechanical apparatus, ensuring the integration of safety management standards into mechanical integrity processes. With a strong focus on process and safety practices, you'll oversee incident reporting and investigations, formulating solutions that are both sustainable and corrective. Working in tandem with Process Engineering and other technical teams, you'll drive process optimizations and reliability efforts within a challenging operating environment. Nigel
