Traffic Engineering Full-Time | In-Person | Maryland-Washington, DC-Virginia Region Position Overview Bengal Engineers LLC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with basic knowledge of Traffic Engineering, Synchro, and SIDRA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience working on real-world transportation and civil engineering projects throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain practical exposure to traffic studies, roadway and site access analysis, MOT, traffic signals, permitting, and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects. What You'll Do
Perform traffic and intersection capacity/Level of Service (LOS) analyses using Synchro and SIDRA.
Assist with Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) and traffic engineering reports.
Evaluate roadway operations, intersections, site access, and circulation.
Assist with Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans.
Support traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking assignments.
Prepare engineering calculations, exhibits, plans, technical memoranda, and reports.
Coordinate with civil/site engineers on development and transportation projects.
Assist with agency permitting, submissions, and responses to review comments. Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
Academic, internship, project, or professional exposure to Synchro and SIDRA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn. Preferred
Internship or project experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
Familiarity with MUTCD and
MDOT SHA
standards.
Knowledge of MOT, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, and roadway/site access design.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
