Job Description
Job description: Civil Engineer
- Traffic Engineering Full-Time | In-Person | Maryland-Washington, DC-Virginia Region Position Overview Bengal Engineers LLC is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with basic knowledge of Traffic Engineering, Synchro, and SIDRA.
- Perform traffic and intersection capacity/Level of Service (LOS) analyses using Synchro and SIDRA.
- Assist with Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) and traffic engineering reports.
- Evaluate roadway operations, intersections, site access, and circulation.
- Assist with Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans.
- Support traffic signal, signing, and pavement marking assignments.
- Prepare engineering calculations, exhibits, plans, technical memoranda, and reports.
- Coordinate with civil/site engineers on development and transportation projects.
- Assist with agency permitting, submissions, and responses to review comments. Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
- Academic, internship, project, or professional exposure to Synchro and SIDRA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn. Preferred
- Internship or project experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
- Familiarity with MUTCD and
MDOT SHA
standards.- Knowledge of MOT, traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, and roadway/site access design.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
