Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to be based out of our Kokomo, IN plant. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this person will support manufacturing operations by monitoring product quality, analyzing defects, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. This role focuses on reducing waste, improving process capability, and maintaining customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives. The individual will serve as a change agent and represent the Quality function on assigned project teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus. What you'll do: Facilitate & participate in concept brainstorming & ideation sessions. Work as a "hands-on" Engineer as related to design, material, or process. Solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations. Provide technical assistance for troubleshooting & diagnosing design and manufacturing quality problems. Create Standard Work documents and help maintain the Controlled Document system. Leads projects across the department as needed. Research future concepts within the market including monitoring of technology trends. Drive Lean Methodology within the Atkore Business System. What you'll bring: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field required with 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Thorough understanding and practical application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Control Plans, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Demonstrated knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), Gauge R&R analysis, gage calibration systems, and
ISO 9001
