About Us CC Edwards Construction Inc. is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, grading, and underground utility construction. We deliver projects ranging from site development and mass excavation to water, sewer, and storm drain installation for public and private clients. We're looking for a detailed and schedule oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team and support the accounting operations behind our fast-moving field work. Position Summary The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the company, with an emphasis on job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close activities specific to construction and heavy civil operations. This role works closely with the Controller, project managers, and field operations to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting across active jobs. Key Responsibilities Process and own the full cycle accounts payable process, including vendor invoice matching to jobs, invoice coding and approval routing, and check and electronic payment processing. New vendor setup, including W-9 and COI collection. Co Process the full cycle of accounts receivable, including draw requests, invoice creation, lien waivers, and collections follow-ups. Monthly reconciliation of subcontractor and vendor accounts to vendor statement. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and assist with cash management tracking. Assist with sales/use tax filings and other regulatory reporting as needed Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for bonding, insurance, and external audit requests Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting experience; construction, heavy civil, or utilities industry experience strongly preferred Experience with construction ERP/accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint Spectrum, Vista, Foundation, Sage 300 CRE) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas) Strong understanding of progress billing, lien waivers, and retention. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously Good communication skills for working with project managers, vendors, and customers Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred/Bonus Skills Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Exposure to treasury/banking platforms (e.g., CashPro, positive pay, ACH processing) Previous exposure to viewpoint spectrum AP/AR Modules.

Compensation & Benefits Hiring Range:
