Job Description

Summary Teeter is seeking a hands-on Construction Accounting Controller to oversee accounting for our construction and land development projects and support our diverse portfolio of companies. This role requires direct responsibility for construction accounting, strong cash flow management, and experience working with lenders. Responsibilities Manage construction accounting, including job costing, project budgets, cost allocations, work in progress, and retainage. Complete month-end closing for multiple entities, including reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and financial statements. Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts for projects and individual companies. Develop, review, and update building and development pro formas, including projected costs, financing, revenue, and profitability. Work directly with lenders to prepare construction draw requests, provide financial reporting, and meet loan requirements and deadlines. Monitor loan covenants and maintain accurate supporting documentation. Process and oversee payroll for small companies. Manage daily accounting activities and provide ownership with timely financial information. Improve accounting processes and internal controls across the portfolio. Required Qualifications Direct, hands-on construction accounting experience is required. Experience limited to supporting a construction accounting team does not meet this requirement. Experience independently managing accounting through month-end close. Strong understanding of construction job costing, project budgets, and financial reporting. Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and building or development pro formas. Experience working directly with lenders and understanding construction financing, draw requirements, reporting obligations, and loan covenants. Experience managing accounting for multiple entities. Payroll processing experience. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Ability to perform daily accounting work while overseeing the broader financial picture. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience with commercial construction and land development. Experience with Business Central, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Paylocity. Experience improving accounting workflows through automation. Pay:
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
