Overview I am a small solo practice bookkeeper looking for someone to assist with back end data entry and month-end close. This is primarily a remote, work-from-home position with occasional in-person meetings needed in or near Woodinville for paperwork transfer so someone local to King or Snohomish county is needed. Estimated hours are between 5 and 10 hours per week with flexibility in when the work is done as long as deadlines are met. Secure home internet is a MUST. No benefits other than state mandated sick leave PTO. Also, please don't apply for this job as a short-term income stream if you are looking for full-time work. I get it, it's rough out there right now! But I literally cannot afford to go through this process just to lose you to the job you really needed. This is not an entry-level role. The best fit for this position is someone with full-cycle bookkeeping experience paired with some accounting education who is not looking for a full time role, like a stay-at-home parent, an accounting student, or a retired bookkeeper. My clients are primarily in QuickBooks Online, but I have clients in Wave, Sage, and QB Desktop so broader software experience would be very helpful. I work with neurodivergent clients who have specific support needs so flexibility and compassion is important, as is your comfort with working with non-traditional industries i.e. cannabis, tarot readers, death doulas, etc. I am also neurodivergent so I should probably add patience with ME as I adapt to having help with all the things I've been juggling alone for years. I do not anticipate this role becoming full-time but could grow to up to 20 hours per week for the right person, down the road. Not a requirement. Responsibilities Managing bank and credit card transaction entry during the month for multiple small and mid-sized clients Perform bank and credit card reconciliations at beginning of each month Own the backup documentation processes Occasional travel to Woodinville for paperwork pickup Categorize and track transactions from external accounts i.e. Stripe, Paypal Support management with other projects as needed Skills Proven experience with accounting systems and financial software such as QuickBooks, Wave, Sage, or Xero Strong understanding of basic accounting principals i.e. double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliations Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook Strong attention to detail with the ability to "see the whole picture" without it being painted clearly for you Ability to multi-task or switch focus when priorities change Experience with non-profit accounting a huge plus Familiarity with payroll processing and payroll tax regulations a plus but not required If this sounds like the role that would be a perfect fit for you please submit your resume through Indeed and include a short paragraph telling me why you're the person for the job.
