Job Description

Job Summary Consumer Credit Union is looking for an individual to lead and oversee the functions of Mortgage Services including Origination; Underwriting; Servicing and Portfolio Management. The credit union offers residential first-lien mortgages, home equity second lien mortgages and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC) loans. This position will be based at the main office in Greeneville, TN and will require periodic travel to all branch locations from Knoxville to Tri-Cities. The Chief Mortgage Officer will be responsible for implementing loan policy and risk management for each loan and the loan portfolio and supervise the staff of the Mortgage Services Department. Responsibilities Ensuring that lending advances the mission of Consumer Credit Union and meets the regulatory guidelines. Communicates loan policy and procedures. Supervise the effective and timely delivery of credit products to our membership. Collaborate with loan officers in the preparation of loan applications for structure and compliance. Ensure strong credit analysis. Originate, underwrite, and close loans as needed to support the staff within the department. Ensure completeness of loan files. Review delinquency and work with collections department. Train staff. Manage staff and oversee scheduling. Work with title companies and real estate agents to grow business opportunities. Disseminate regulatory guidelines to staff. Monitor local and national rates for competitiveness. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics Understanding of bond and treasury markets and how they affect rates FNMA lending experience a plus Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience 7-10 years in credit administration, underwriting, real estate loan underwriting, closings, and portfolio management Deep understanding of Real Estate regulatory guidelines including RESPA; REG2; TRID, and CFPB best practices Understanding of Home Equity Lending including HELOC products Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills.
